MACC Education

The MACC is committed to providing a variety of inclusive, and culturally based arts and cultural activities through our dynamic classroom facilities. The MACC Education and Curatorial team presents a range of programming to feature traditional arts and crafts workshops, to contemporary expressions and applications of these traditional practices. Key art forms include but are not limited to storytelling, painting, printmaking, textile arts, culinary, dance, theatre, and design. Together with local, Mexican American artists, makers and culture bearers, the MACC is a space for learning, creativity, innovation and accessibility.

Our educational programing is designed to engage our community by celebrating and preserving Mexican American arts, culture and history.

Memorialize this Spring season through the prehispanic clay craft.

Originated in Puebla Mexico, the art of El Árbol de la Primavera is a ceramic process that reflects on the season of Spring and all its meanings recalling all the way back to the prehispanic origin of the craft. Artivismo: Stand Up 4 Something with artist Omar Hernandez

In this hands-on class series, students will explore the power of visuals to spark change and inspire action. Learn the art of creating flyers with a message, blending color theory, composition, and artivism to design pieces that stand for what matters to you. You’ll also gain skills in formatting for social media, then bring your vision to life by digitizing, printing, and taking home your own original flyer. No experience needed, just bring your voice and your ideas.
